Well- we made it. It was an adventurous year - and a historical one. Your child's class will be the last of half day kindergarten in Scott County. I tried to squeeze as much love, fun, and love of fun learning into it as possible. I sincerely hope I succeeded. Here is a wrap-up of the last few weeks in a photo and caption format. ('Cause it's the last day of school and I'm taking it easy)!
Finished up awarding belts for sight word karate. Those with black belts knew at least 90 words! |
Wrote a how-to piece on making paper airplanes, then made some and flew them. |
Practiced a first grade skill - reading for an extended length of time to themselves |
Made a cool coin flip book |
Signed our autographs |
Made some summer plans |
Used the left over scraps to make confetti for a craft for next year's students |
Played a new game - gnilleps (thats spelling spelled backwards). Students sit back to back so the "checker " can check the spelling on the board while the "speller" spells the words. |
I retold the story of "Stephanie's Ponytail" by Robert Munsch with my own ponytail. |
It is very silly |
As are the students |
We worked on our Kindergarten Memory Books which your child read from today at our program and took home. |
And now - for the never-ending slideshows. If your child is driving you nuts this summer - look it up on your phone and you'll have the next 10-15 minutes to yourself as they remember the good 'ol days in room 109. Don't forget - I'll be at My Church (that's its actual name) in the Indian Acres Shopping Center this summer on (most) Mondays from 11-1:00 serving free lunches and doing kid crafts and science experiments. I would love to see my kiddos there! Have a great summer!
